Frankie Buthelezi

Abahambayo are Frankie Buthelezi on vocals, Nhlanhla Zondi on guitar and vocals, Barry Clausen on bass and Oudskül on percussion. They have been performing around KwaZulu-Natal for three years, from the mountains to the sea. Their music is the embodiment of the land, its people, their dreams and the pulse of life.

Barry Clausen

Abahambayo are a musical group that aims at preserving African folk music by fusing modern jazz and pop technique to appeal to almost everyone who comes across the music and those wanting to learn about the past and current history of the Zulu folk.
Abahambayo are a highly polished professional outfit who can go from set-up to soundcheck and be performing within fifteen minutes of arrival at the venue.

Nhlanhla Zondi

They have a catalogue of original material broad and varied enough to entertain any mood and the energy to change the mood when the mood needs to get its dancing shoes on and boogie on down to booty shakin’ African rhythms.
