NIRERE SHANEL will be performing on 28 August in the framework of THE MUSIC IMBIZO at the CENTRE FOR JAZZ as the opening act of NDUDUZO MAKHATHINI. A Rwandan Afro-Folk artist who believes in the transformational power of music. Her poignant words and suave voice, smooth and captivating, deeply resonate. On stage, her talent shines through in mesmerizing performances. In January 5th, 2024, Nirere Shanel released « Uzaze EP, » a collection of six songs about embracing womanhood while navigationg social norms, fusing Latino and Rwandan sounds. She will be performing at the Centre for Jazz with her pianist Mthoko Mabuza in collaboration with The Music Imbizo, in the framework of a Southern Africa tour with the support of the French Institute and the French Embassy in South Africa, Lesotho and Malawi.
